I now have 3 new launchers but need to find new ways to make rockets that last longer than one launch because they go so high and come down so hard.

For me there is no such thing as a "simple piston valve". The inside of a pvc pipe is way to filled with bumps to get a good seal. After my 4th attempt I have stopped that nonsense.

Yes they are running parallel. I'm launching rockets and a 60" would qualify as a longer barrel I think. Most of my launchers have a bigger chamber volume (more than 2:1) because it needs to stand up. This one will be less than a 2:1 ratio because of the design using 2 valves.

I was told this is the formula for finding cylinder volume. pi*r*r*length but these calculations don't make sense.

1" by 60" = 47.12
2" by 30" = 94.24
4" by 15" = 188.49

Sems to me they would all be the same. What am I doing wrong? I'm am trying to figure the C:B ratio and by this my 1" by 60 ...

So what's the better C:B ratio for power, the 1.25:1 or the 2:1. Shango and jr do you guys have any pics?

Something like I want there jrrdw, except straight up. It looks like a 2" piston with a 2" barrel, in a 2" cross, don't see how that could work. I do think a cross would work better than a T though, seems it would be faster with more volume on the other side, 2 sides better than 1.

So if 1 1/2" is the right size for the seat (don't know how you could make it any bigger), a 1 1/2" barrel would be the best fit?

What is the largest size barrel can you use with a 2" piston using a 2" T. I was thinking a 1 1/2" barrel unless using an adapter.

You probably can't get a piston to those specs. ok I did the ggdt for a sprinkler and they are about the same. What gives? I thought a piston was supposed to be a lot better. I think I have wasted a lot of time trying to make a piston.
