It looks like its time to decommission my valves back plate, its starting to fatigue around the bolts.

I have no idea how well it will work, I had to pretty much just guess on its geometry, I made the hole size 2.375", and the distance ...

Should I give it another try? I think the main problem last time was the color, a manly color should correct any stability issues.

Yea I'm gonna fire it! There's an old stove at my shop I'm going to shoot at tomarrow when I remember to bring my camera.

I had a go at making an APFSDS round this week.
The tip (94g) is made of 17-4 steel, the body (61g)is made from polycarbonate, and the sabot is made out of nylon and is 28g.

I like it, I'm not sure what the best way to replace the valve would be and still keep the sleekness of the gun would be. a coaxe would keep it inline but would add space in between the valve and the projectile.

I think I will make that, it will have to wait till next week after a robotics competition.

Would a sobot like this work? it seems to me it would be easer to make and lighter.


The only downside to this idea is it's less badass compared to a sabot that breaks into multiple parts.

what program did you use for that drawing and cp/cg calculations?

humidifying the air? I don't have much trouble with static from UHMWPE where I work (south carolina).
