Do you have a chamber fan? A fan is probably the most important addition to a combustion gun, more important than metered fuel or multiple spark gaps.

Depends on which type of glass you use, I suppose.
The average pressure exerted on the wall of a wine bottle is about 80psi (for VERY prolonged periods), so I don't see why you couldn't use it for a combustion.
