Thanks for the info guys. - Some I understood, some went over my head.
I think I found what I was looking for though.

How bout a safety?
Epoxy a 3/4" coupler over the top of it so you have to insert a finger to depress and it would protect against accidental discharge.
You might need to bevel out a area for it to seat for better bonding or bolt a plug at the end and the igniter thru that then glue the coupler over ...

Well I can't tell you how proud we all are.
Like a mother bird releasing her new hatchling for first flight.
We beak fed him worms and cultivated the inevitable destruction he was going to wreak on the neighbors.
I suspect in the future, advice should come with a 60 mg dose of Ritalin, so we can be ...

Measureing Combustion Pressure (PSI Gauges)
In an effort to perfect the best fuel mix I want to install a peak pressure gauge to basically record the combustion pressure of each shot.
My theory is that the gauge would be less anecdotal than my (not so) trained ear. I realize it will differ greatly based on ammo resistance so I will be ...

Sounds like your cap is done... Time for a new one.
I suspect it was all that sanding.
You know the same force that makes it hard to turn is part of the force that holds it together.
If that cap blew out 5 times I got a believe you have torn away most of the useful threads.
That's why I suggested a ...
