no, Although I think a straight beam that could light stuff on fire would be cool, that is not the purpose. I just want a really, really, really, bright flashlight. That only lasts for a fraction of a second.

Hmm.. the flyback is extremely small. its about 3/4 in dia and 1.5 in tall. Its entirely encased in plastic and has a high voltage anode at the top and several unknown electrodes at the bottom.
I have not dissembled it or even removed it from the PCB. The anode produces a 3 mm constant, hot purple ...

Alright... I am entirely new to spudfiles, (this is my first post)
