Hey, I know this sounds like a very stupid question, but what is a burst disk? I've looked around for a bit and i can't find any explanations. It looks like its just a tin foil and tape layered "disk" that im guessing bursts from a sharp object while under pressure. am I right? Or is it different ...

onequestion, i have seen many spud guns on this sight and noticed the fan in the gun is un protected and also in the same part of the combustion chamber, wouldnt the fan get damaged over time?
