looks excactly like a piston valve, but it seems the flow would be just incredibly low, with all those constrained curves, oh yah is it fired by releasing a pilot volume into the atmos or some other way?

wow thats a thoroughly thought out post! i'm actually saving what you said so i can use it to optimise my valve (tweaking spring and gaskets so they can open quicker while still giving their required performance) ill use a stop watch to time some things when i build the trigger assembly. also you ca...

well from what ive tested its pretty damn fast, and a spinkler valve isnt really in my budget, also the speed at which it opens depends on how force you use to pull it, id say its not as fast as a sprinkler valve, but it can close alot faster.letting go of it will close it in under 15 ms. you can pu...

yea, this isnt meant to be a (dump valve) meaning its not supposed to have high flow like a piston valve, but it releases air quickly and can close in a snap so its very well suited for semi auto use, or anything where youd wanna be able to fire and close the valve before you exaust your air supply....

sorry but it's just a piston valve... but not actuated by pilot vavle but by your hand... it's nothing new acually after doing some research i realise this is a push pull valve, similar to those used in some nerf guns. saw something similar at nerfhaven while browsing, calling it a piston valve is ...

acutally troll hammer thats what im planning to do, my trigger will have a ratchet on top of it which will pull back the valve to its full opening, (about 1.5cm back) then the ratchet will go down imediately closing the valve, release trigger and repeat, its air conservation at its best. whats a str...

well this is a pull valve which im currently designing, it works by, well... pulling it!, its bassically a sealed end which you pull apart whith your fingers (a trigger) when its pulled apart air can pass through, on i used silicon gaskets from hose guns and stainless steel pull rod to get it to sea...

thanks, i remember how brittle PVC can get, i had a large 4" pipe in my yard out all winter and when i dropped it a foot off the ground it shattered  pressure rated ABS sounds like a miracle but i doubt its cheap, even if does exist

im not exactly sure what youre doing? are you trying to fill the chamber via the piston?. a diagram would be nice just for readability issues.
