I belive that the casting epoxy that you are refering to is a ployester resin and in that case I would saythat you are better off using JB weld or a similar epoxy for tha sake of your piston's durability.

This is okay if the largest piston valve you want to make is about 1.5" but think you will want a bigger lathe very quickly.

Maybe you can find or make a copper bung that could be soldered or brazed to the side of the pipe then have your threads in the bung.

Even though we all call the guns we build spud guns I personally feel that spud are losing popularity as ammo. So what ammo do you shoot.

A sprinkler valve is the first thing that comes to mind. 12V should actuate it even though it is used to 24V For a smaller valve I saw a 1/4" solonoid valve at a local place called Kafenbarger Truck Equipment, They sell snow plows and dump bed for trucks. I did not see a price but they had the valve...

Since the gas would be used in the same volume at a lower pressure there would be less gas being used so the number of shots that you could get would increase.

Absolutly noting, but It could also be used for say 500 psi to test a hybrid chamber or I always see the question of how much pressure can this fitting handle well with this it could easily be tested until it fails or tested to 2 times the operarting pressure. If you do use such a pump for hydrotest...

I just discovered that I can buy aluminum pipe for about 1/4 the price on Speedymetals than I can on McMaster, but it isn't threaded. How do I put it together since aluminum cant be welded or brazed? Could I possibly use a metal filled epoxy? Aluminum can be welded. All you need is a MIG or TIG wel...
