I shoot my copper at 650 psi. What is the highest pressure that you have used? At 650 psi my cannon has the energy of a .38 Police Special. That was my baseline goal. Oh yeah? Well I fill my copper cannon to 432 torr per feet per minute. At 432 torr per feet per minute, it has the same muzzle energ...

@Boyntonstu: What launchers have you made? You can find my cannons in the list on the bottom. If you have any questions, ask me :) (I dont think you need to) I suggest you make the same list as I did. If everyone does something like that, we get a nice cannon database. If JSR did so, it would get a...

I think that picture is actually from the "slap sense into someowhen episode when they test hand eye coordination to see how effective slapping someone is at making them recover from shock. if I remember the guns where not terribly impressive when firing the corks that they loaded them with. I'll t...

"However, in the video they are arranged like this:

Exactly.

Great analysis.

Bravo!

Could this be a little faster?

Interesting, but complex technology to master don't you think? You have to remember that you can only put a certain amount of magnetism on an object, the rest is just converted to heat. The efficiency of Gauss/Coil guns is also very low ( sub 5% most of the time). Id still like to attempt to build ...

Neat Gauss (Magnetic) Homemade Pistol

Joerg, does the trigger look familiar?

Tech: Imagine a series of electromagnets controlled by breaking a beam of light.

I wonder how fast it could accelerate a 3/8" steel ball in a 36" long rifle.

Wang 2200?

AFAIK I had the first PC in Washington D.C.

It cost my boss $19,000.

It had 16k of core ram

2 audio cassettes for data.

Each cassette held 256 records of 256 Bytes.

"Random" access.

Later on, I remember the first hard disk - 5 Megabytes!

it isn't fun anymore when it gets into serious arguments and clogs up the entire board with posts. If you want fun, take it up via PM, as I've been saying. Can you provide me with reasons that this topic could not have been done via PM with mods or PCGUY, or both? That's a reasonable question I bel...

I'll be honest and say that I don't post here nearly as much as I used to. I do; however, check in and see whats new. for the last week or so all I see is complaints about "stu". STU- While you may not be trying to cause a problem, you obviously are. I think its ridiculous and you should simply try...
