Re: Valve reliability

Piston and cylinder matching 101 For me the piston side clearance is kept between .0005 and .001 with the O-rings just taking up the clearance. You adjust the O-rings fit by the depth of the groove in the piston. The O-rings should fit the piston snugly but not so tight it stretches the wall thin c...

Hi, I’m not sure if you are still monitoring this post, those red finned projectiles are awesome, where did you get the file from please. Did you print the launcher yourself and the same for that did you download the files for that. Kind Rgds Finally, I get to approve one! @Fierypackman, Welcome to...

Re: Old link format redirect?

"Does anyone know if it would be possible for the site owners to redirect old URL formats to the correct threads?" It has to be done manually one by one and yes website migration breaks links.

I do what I can when I can as a moderator but the major workings of Spudfiles is the owners (PCGUY) thing.

Re: Kill switch

Assuming you're using all PVC to build your cannon, wire everything inline except the LED, it will need a separate ground from the battery, that creates the circuit for the LED. The LED will also need to be able to handle the voltage your working with. You can google what ever voltage LED and normal...

Re: How do you install bursting discs?

According to the title question you put the burst disk in between two mating surfaces that is easy to access and can hold both sides all the way around tightly and evenly. According to your post question that cam lock is probably for water or other fluids usage and there's no accurate rating for the...

Re: Blowgun max pressures

Thanks for clarifying, jrrdw. I hope I’m not annoying you with too many follow up questions, but you seem to really know what you’re talking about. Do you have any idea why the manufacturer’s rep says it has no max input pressure? Is he just misinformed? He did get 3 downvotes for that answer. http...

Re: Blowgun max pressures

I've worked in automotive and lawnmower repair shops since 14 years old, 55 now. I know that well made blow guns like what you posted will handle 150 to 175 PSI on a hot day for years until the valve or the o-ring in the valve wears out. As for a maximum input I'm sure in will vary depending on the ...

Re: Is spudding dead?

To answer the question "Is spudding dead?' no. It is not. It's just mostly all been said before. Forums slow down when there's nothing new (a 2nd innovation contest?) and or a generation gap. Slowdowns happen, it'll be fine.
