Good luck! I hope your career plans are fulfilling. I am glad to hear of interest in the fields of engineering! I started out as a hopeful to be an engineer... Changed my mind and decided to take up the Criminal Justice fields. Got an Associates, then a Bachelors, a Masters, now working on a J.D. de...

Are you hunting them or just catch-and-release? I know the forum doesn't like to talk about shooting animals... What about trapping them? Seems more inhumane to trap and detain them than to just shoot 'em dead. They taste good, but my wife isn't in to all that. If it can't be purchased at Kroger we ...

or small game from over 20-30 feet No talk of shooting animals... It's in the rules. Btw I'd go with half inch chamber. You'll get 30 ft very accurate with darts. Hmmm. He said small game, which means food. I took a squirrel with my very modified Benjamin 392 today out about 70 yards. Dropped him i...

Id like to clarify the terms in real firearm terms - as they are always wrong when relating to paint guns, air rifles, etc. The most commonly found valves in said items do require a blow, or a knock to open them or, more realistically, a "strike". Here's what I am referring to: A "Hammer" travels in...

Anti-syphon tank running verticle along with an expansion chamber will, well, should solve your problem. I have a Koblat C02 reg that gives me no issues. It actually shouldn't be doing the cool down effect or spewing liquid. I do run mine vertically, as it was designed (hang from the hip is how it w...

That is correct, the solenoid is in a DIFFERENT gun I had sold on eBay - an airsoft mini gun with three barrels. This particular BBMG is mechanical; uses a blow chuck operated by hand brake lever. When I linked the photobucket pics I forgot about it linking everything  Many of the airguns pict...

I have seen some of the nice units with adjustability - some are expensive. The automotive units are fairly cheap and work well. The draw back is that they are fixed. DOT sets the standards for the relay speed, i.e. turn signal relays have a minimum and a maximum rate standard along with strobe rela...

Here is a link for the solenoid air valves I use in other guns. My next gun will utilize the same solenoid as linked along with a strobe light relay that strobes 6 times a second. The relay units can be found at automotive parts stores. This sort of setup allows for concealment of the components in ...

Okay, more indepth pictures. Video will be up tomorrow sometime. I hope you guys enjoy these, Feel free to ask questions. As I stated before, this is a pretty simple and all mechanical BBMG. In a few weeks I will have another solenoid operated BBMG up and going (I use air horn solenoid valves that f...

Looks like an inline ram type of vortex block design; the central faux barrel and shroud is pvc. The rest looks to be metal. Very nice setup - wish I had real machine tools at my disposal...hence my ammo can use as the main body of the gun  A solenoid valve with a circuit will still fire a vort...

Lot's of great ideas showing up! People are really jumping all over this. I would really like to see the magnet idea work. The idea is there. Well, I'm no newbie when it comes to airguns or the principle laws required to propel objects. Fridge magnets were used as an example for Gauss scale. For real fun look up how to build a "gauss rifle". You can do it with a wooden ruler six 1cm square neodynium magnets (1,000 gauss), and steel...

It's a neat concept, but don't forget about the forces of air pressure, which will be far greater than the gauss of the magnet. Springs are indeed the best solution. Reasons are obvious. For example, think of a spring, size aside for a moment, that yields, not produces (key word) a resistance of 100...
