I just wanted to say, however many times you may have heard it, that is awesome. Anyone can build a 12 foot PVC aerosol-powered monster, but that is handheld, ergonomic, reusable, and serves a purpose other than gratuitous destruction of household appliances. I applaud you.

300-400 is huge for 1/4. PVC's fail point is somewhere near 400, to give you an idea. I don't know about the metals, but at that pressure, you're going to get a lot of condensation, and possibly even some frost on the valves. Frankly, it's a little overkill unless your going to be launching ...

Pressure chamber should be whatever will best contain the total amount of air at the right pressure. If you're using a compressor, that pressure is 150-180 PSI, a manual pump may get you to 120 at the highest. So it depends on what kind of barrel to pressure tank ratio is, and on what you're ideal ...
