Last night as part of the celebratory events I was launching some spuds. I found an ancient Glowstick in a drawer and decided to try out an idea that popped into my head: tracer rounds.

Has anyone ever used a battery operated BBQ lighter? I have always wanted one. I found one for $15 shipped on eBay and it works great. Uses a triple A battery. I hacked it up and modified it to my needs...but even unmodified it worked very well...makes a strong spark about an inch gap.

You know what is a right PITA? Trying to zero in a sight that is at a 45 degree orientation. I think I need to make a mount that is level to the earth just to simplify that task. A little update. I've shot all manner of things out of the cannon. Even potatoes. It's been reliable. And it has a satisfying amount of recoil :twisted:
My favorite so far is an improvised cardboard shot shell full of mini marshmallows straight up. But busting jugs is fun too.
