I built a fairly simple 2" barreled pneumatic spud gun awhile back and I've been unable to come up with any creative ideas for ammo. I'd prefer not to have to spend 8 dollars + shipping for a single round, I just want something cheap I can reuse that gets good range. Any ideas?

I wouldn't advise trying to build pneumatic cartridge system (here JSR and I are talking about the same thing) before you've built a piston valve though...

A multiple shot design doesn't require multiple valves necessarily. You could set it up like a grenade launcher, where the grenades are a cylinder ...
