No don't have the mill attachment. I've seen its possible to do some milling by mounting a vice with vertical travel to the cross slide then putting the milling cutters into the lathe chuck?

anyone got advice on that?

If you used a hammer valve to pilot a QEV would it empty the entire chamber of air, or would it be possible to set up so the piston re seats itself fast enough so it only empties part of it?

Okay then fair enough some decent tools will be my next purchase
havn't had any problems with the lathe so far. i havnt been able to get a great finish on steel yet but im sure that will be down to the quality of my tools

yeh i'm using some basic HSS tools to start off but ill get some carbide insert holders later when i know im not going to be destroying them. haven't damaged anything yet :D

cheers yeh i've been practising on some aluminium and steel.
is ali strong enough for airgunning purposes? like valve bodies and things. I have heard its strength can be limiting for some applications... and have found it doesn't produce the neatest threads compared to steel. but steel rusts

Yeah i thought about this. Might even consider casting my own just for the exercise of it.

Okay if thats the case i think ill still go ahead with my plan unregulated at some point because i like the action they have.

I'll look into the self contained cartridges because that would be sweet if i could somehow make them about the size of a 12gauge shotgun shell ...

I would say it's actually easier than trying to make a PCP if you have machining macilities.

Not that regulator. I tried one, didn't work well at all, even ruined its own gauge. Petitlu on this forum had similar experiences with the same model.

have you thought of air cartridges? Guaranteed consistent shots, can be taken to high pressure and if you have a lathe making a batch of 10 is fairly easy work.

If you're concerned with long range accuracy, 80 psi in a small bore isn't really going to cut it. A ninja paintball tank regulator can be adjusted down to 450 psi which is within a good range for small calibres.
