Sadly noise, especially recorded noise, is a poor indicator of shot power. What projectile are you shooting? A 1/8" ball bearing should go through both sides of a soup tin easily at 400 psi. That shot was just an indoor shot with rice (turns to powder after 1 layer of cardboard).. I shot small scre...

Does the valve sound like it's performing like it should? This is around 400psi about 10 feet from the camera..

Gun Freak wrote:Looks really heavy for a 1/2" piston.
It's not as heavy as it looks, but even so it's for high pressure, has a good seal and not a very big travel... It performs pretty nice and has a nice bang to it for being such a low caliber barrel.

Piston design critique....

I made this piston for my 1/8" coaxial gun with 12(10)" of 1/2" chamber, 1/8" 30" rod for barrel. I didn't take a picture of the finished product but after this was taken the head of the bolt was dipped in epoxy resin for barrel sealing surface (about 1/10" thick, if that), the rubber part is bumper...

I hate to hijack thread but I also hate to create duplicate threads...

Why does GGDT give low FPS result with a faster valve open time? I was thinking maybe it meant how long the valve is open, but that's cant be the case either since setting it high also kills FPS.

I have the 2nd one, also in 1/2 and I made several shots at 300+ PSI... When I took it apart it looked like it is made pretty good.

I dont know about Georgia, but in Mass combustions are illegal, however pneumatics are not. I was at a party on the 4th of July and a few staties showed up. They made me take the BBQ ignitor off of the combustion and they kept it and let me keep the gun. However, they looked at my pneumatic and sai...

I just went and ordered a PCP pump and a couple male fittings for guns... I will probably also get a fridge compressor when I get a hold of one for free but hopefully the 3 stage pcp pump will be able to reach 300-500PSI fairly quickly on small 20~ CI chambers.

Lockednloaded wrote:I'd really recommend saving for the PCP pump, I have one and I love it, not only can you charge your guns to 3600psi, but also you can charge HPA tanks
Do they have standard threads on the hoses that you can use to swap out for standard connections (like regular disconnects, etc) ?

I give up on it, I will just find a fridge compressor and maybe someday buy a PCP pump and replace the connector with a QD.

Making a pump....

I was making a pump and was wondering how badly the dead space would impact performance? It is currently in a working state but not complete enough to do pressure tests.. I also need a way to make a check valve, I currently have a washer screwed into the threads of the T and epoxied as well as the c...

Lockednloaded wrote:You can also get them with check-valve built in. Theyre easier to disconnect because of the smaller SA, but I'd still recommend some sort of bleed valve that you can open to disconnect
The PCP pumps I have looked at all had a bleed valve on it so that's not a concern..

I've actually had luck with a 280psi compressor that was built into a car jump starter pack.. It has filled over 100 times to 200+ PSI

But I still wouldn't recommend it, others probably wont be as reliable.

pcp fitting?

Are the PCP quick disconnect fitting (like on pcp pumps) the same standard QD fitting or is there anything special about them?

Depends on how small, if very very small then a shock pump will work but will still take a long time...

You can use a fridge compressor, build your own pump or buy a PCP pump, they goto 2000-3000PSI but cost around $200.
