1. the valve is choking the flow, A LOT, so a modded 1" sprinkler valve would def do the trick to get a 100+ yards
2. a 2" barrel is pretty large...go down to a 1 or 1.5" barrel and with the modded valve, your distance's will be EASILY doubled, even tripled

that seems like it would work pretty well, but im thinking that the pump would have to be VERY heavy duty for it to not simply snap mid-pump (because obviously the more you pump it, the harder it gets, and eventually the plunger might just snap)

congrats, you've just thought up a cannon with multiple spark gaps (all wired together in series, of course)
its a good idea though, not sure how well needles would conduct electricity though

actually pimp, what you said was right...all those steps were dead on...
couple things to metion though..the little leak seems to be coming out of the barrel which led to me to think that the diaphragh didnt seat properly...i took it out, cleaned it off, and then stretched the spring a bit in case ...
