I'd have to take a look at it again, I believe there was an alignment rod in there that had come out after there had been some sealing issues. Nothing I would blame on Joel's design, this thing had went through a ton of fires, It can probably be fixed I just don't have the time to deal with it right ...

Oh ok, I didn't know you were using helium as a propellant. There have been some discussions about heating the regular air in a pneumatic to achieve supersonic velocities, but as I'm sure you know, fluid dynamics really works against you close to the speed of sound. Hey, sorry to reply so late. We made the wooden supports with some .5 inch plywood and a reciprocating saw.
