Re: Florida Colleges
Wow mark.f 730? That's insane. Thankfully I have never had that many people in one class before. I saved about 40 grand by getting my basics done at a community college, I forgot to mention transferring, and making sure you get credit for everything. Good point about Chegg too, that is a very useful...

Re: Florida Colleges
Glad to hear that you have your priorities in order, a lot of people going in don't and suffer for it. In my personal experience I spent two years at a community college to get my basics done and saved a lot of money and got a better education than I am getting now at a university. As the community ...

Re: Florida Colleges
First off, I want to say good choice of major. I too am an ME major, but I go to school in the cold state of Michigan. Mechanical engineering is a very large field and offers many job possibilities. I only have one year to go, so if you are looking for help or are interested in my personnel experien...

Re: Pete's Easy Peasy Hybrid
Nice looking cannon. I am looking to build a hybrid very soon, although it will be a piston valve . I was just wondering where you found the barrel? I have been through Home Depot and haven't seen anything like that. I also have a quick question about the spark plug, did you have to tap a hole of it...

Re: Piston Hybrids, a couple of questions
I too am just getting into piston hybrids as well. From the research I have done, I can tell you that there should be no equalization hole in the piston between the pilot and the chamber. If there were a hole there, you could risk accidentally igniting a fuel mixture behind the piston as well as in ...

Re: Looking For Advice From the Hybrid Gods
It would be really nice if I could find something like that, but I have decided to just go with the ignition source I linked at the top. It is supposed to put out 30Kv and I think that will be enough for my needs.

Re: Looking For Advice From the Hybrid Gods
Really? a piezo? what kind of voltage does that put out? and thanks for the quick feedback. Are you using a spark plug for your spark gap, or did you find another way that is better?

Looking For Advice From the Hybrid Gods
Hello, I will be building a piston valve hybrid cannon this December when I get some time off from college, and I am looking for some advice. I have no problem with anything but the ignition. I have seen many other guns use stun guns to ignite the fuel mixture, but unfortunately my state doesn't all...

yeah, you should be able to make a gun with a piston in that configuration, but you will actually need to increase the area behind the piston so that it can move back far enough. Also I dont know how much more barrel you could add with a piston like that, or if it would even make any difference. If ...

Yes something like that should work, I don't know where you live, because that plug wont work in America, it is made to fit European sockets. I don't like going through eBay though, because it doesn't give all the details for the product. Just make sure that it can operate on the same frequency as y...

well you have several options in regards to increasing your range. You can either get a signal booster, also called a range extender, or signal repeater by some companies, or you can upgrade your router to a more powerful model. I would personally go with a signal repeater. It can be put anywhere wi...

I never thought about that, but yeah I do suppose I could modify the design slightly to accept a different kind of cartridge. I wish I would have seen your system earlier, because now seeing this I have a new idea as to how to work my design. I wont be able to even touch a cannon for awhile though. ...
