what about modifying a paintball tank regulator to reduce output pressure? i know some manufacturers make it relatively easy by having removable shims to reduce the spring force that keeps the poppet open. not sure about this one:

Pressure Regulator Question
I'm working on a project which will have something like 400psi in the tank regulated down to 250psi chamber/firing pressure (I dont have a compressor).
I'm wondering if this type of regulator is good:

shock pump stroke volume?
im looking to make a 300psi singleshot gun powered manually by shock pump. my aim is higher pressure, since my last project was bicycle pump-powered at 140psi, and i understand im going to have to pay attention to chamber volume this time since shock pumps have tiny stroke volume.
