Re:
could i use something like THIS to achieve the following - press trigger, valve opens allowing propellant through until I let go the trigger No you couldn't, not with that valve. this will work. coming back to this project after a while away (commitments, time etc.) going back to the valve that I l...

3way, 5way any way solenoid question?
been searching a while but can't find an answer to my specific question - so apologies if it has already been answered i have been designing a project similar to a cloud gun, but instead of using a "blowgun" valve like this one HERE my potential project won't have the room at the trigger end to use ...

OK - it's all coming together nicely. My valve seems to work OK with the solenoid now as I have had a few successful firings on my test rig. My trouble now is a magazine. I was trying to make a spring fed tube from the underneath, similar to a "T" setup but due to restrictions on room (meaning it wo...

had a test fire earlier, and apart from a couple of minor issues like the barrel being shot off the end of my test rig, and inconsistent trigger pulses feeding the solenoid everything seems good to go so I can carry on with the build. the weight added to the solenoid arm coupled with the extra volta...

I did some more digging and yeh a 12 gram only lasts 2 mags( 60 shots) i don't want to burst your bubble, but the drozd that i owned got approx 25 - 30 shots per bulb, and that was after a reseal as well. Consumption is fairly pisspoor unless you hpa it. To try combat the bad consumption i did all ...

UPDATE: hi guys - not given up on this, just been waiting for a couple of parts for my build to arrive from china before i can do a test fire plus my recovery from pneumonia is taking longer than expected so my current motivation has pretty much evaporated. I have tested my solenoid by feeding it 24...

Also, it seems that my existing electronic setup is of no use as well, reason being the 555 timer in my circuit does not start to countdown until after I release start button/trigger. This is regardless of how the "pulse" time is trimmed using the pot, because the 555 does not activate the circuit/...

thanks for the continuing input - have tried running 16vDC pulse through the solenoid with the extra weight added to the arm and had a partial success in that it hit the valve JUST hard enough to open it ever so slightly, so it looks like simple brute force may be the way. I shall get a larger batte...

OK - went back in to the disposable camera, got it working and hooked up to my solenoid but when i triggered it - nothing, the plunger didn't even move. So I upped the voltage by adding more batteries and burnt the board out. Knackers. Have been having a read of THIS THREAD HERE of someone with the ...

edgun lelya is a lot nicer IMO, but very VERY expensive (around £1300GBP over here and that's IF you can find a distributor outside russia) and has to be paid for upfront?

got a disposable camera, stripped it down but must have borked something 'cos after removing the flash unit I cannot get it to work/flash/charge. They are only a couple of quid so I will have to go back to the shop and get another I suppose but I think i've found a stumbling block in that the circui...

hi jackssmirkingrevenge - I see what you're saying about the cap discharge, I don't think I can mod my existing PCB as it was a simple shop bought kit that operates a 12vDC relay when triggered with the output time trimmable with a pot, however I reckon I should be able to use/convert the board out ...

hi jackssmirkingrevenge - thanks for the reply the board you have pictured is the drozd upgrade board, which gives full auto. There are a couple of reasons this is no good for my application - 1) I don't want full auto 2) full auto here is illegal (over a certain power) and carries a 5 year mandator...
