I have been restoring an older sailboat this summer. I was able to get several good ideas by looking at websites of folks who build their own, mostly from plywood. If you want something simple, which fits in the back of a truck, then I've got a link for you...

You got me thinking. Do you think my results are influenced by the fact that I've looked at fairly high c:b ratios? If so, do you think the effects of energy lost to heating the chamber walls is mitigated by having plenty of additional energy from a larger chamber?

Those water jugs hold us to pressure spikes very well. Ever seen them dropped when full of water? The times I've seen a full one hit the kitchen floor at work, they bounce like a ball! I don't know how much pressure is generated, but it's 5gal of water falling approx a meter.

Banging the piss out of pipe? That sounds kinda....funny! :lol:
Anywho, you should give it a try. It only took me about 20 min for a 6 ft barrel. Plus it's a great stress reliever! And a workout!
BTW, one of these days soon I'll be testing one of those molded barrels. Just waiting for the weather ...
