Well, once I uploaded the videos that I had on the cell phone, one of them looks kinda' OK.

We made about 30 shots Saturday, without streamers. (I thought that I had a roll of the Orange surveyors tape in the truck, but didn't)

Didn't matter. The bright colored balls were plenty visible without it. :)

We kept shooting the same 5 balls, with kids collecting them and throwing them back ...

Today, I was using CO2, from a 20 LB cylinder, at about 75 PSI.

I've got a 150 PSI regulator on the cylinder ...

I've had my gun done for a while now, but so far, I've only made a few low pressure test shots in the neighborhood.

Tomorrow, I'm going to take it to a friend's place out in the country, and see what it can really do.

I don't know how well it works yet. I've only done one very low pressure shot (25 PSI) because I don't want to freak out the neighbors.

After I brace the barrel/chamber, I'll take it out to a friend's place in the country to find out. Hopefully this coming week-end.

You got a few options. You could cut out a bracket and then zip tie the barrel and chamber together, for example. Or a large hose clamp. Or something. :)

I've got a friend bringing me a 2 1/2" hole saw, which I'm going to try to use to make a wooden brace. And I have a VERY LONG hose ...

Well, I've made a "little" progress. 8)

After playing with performance numbers from GGDT, my idea for a tennis ball mortar turned into a tennis ball cannon. Maybe next time. :)

This is a box of 50 Tennis balls that I bought off of EBAY. There are literally thousands out there, and some can be bought really cheaply, with free shipping if you look around.

They're cheaper than ...

I'm new to this myself, so I sure as heck don't know all the answers. However, there seems to be a very simple fix.

How about just not holding the trigger after the shot is fired?

BTW, what you've described has nothing at all to do with how a double action "real" gun works.
