Re: Bitcoin and cryptocurrency
I kick myself. A few months ago I could have got a bitcoin for $120, thought about getting a couple to have. Now they are $1000+ that would have been some quikc money. I don't see them replacing normal currency, I see them more of something like gold, an inflation proof currency eventually after the...

Re: Manufacturer's valve max. PSI rating vs. actual
Usually, with a metal valve at least, it's the diaphragm that is rated. I have taken a 3" valve rated for something like 12psi and made a thicker diaphragm to hold 150psi or so. So you may look into making your own from sheet rubber, or just try it, remember like was said before if it fails, it will...

Re: Its been a long while, re-introduction post.
I remember referencing your site quite frequently back in the day. Good to see you around again. I'd say most of the development happened around 2007-08, when people were building all kinds of innovative launchers left and right. Larda's hybrid stands out as perhaps the most impressive creation of ...

Re: Its been a long while, re-introduction post.
Welcome back to the fray! Cheap pneumatic parts on eBay means sophisticated semi-autos are within most people's reach . Many members now have access to proper machine tools. Oh no my sources for parts has been discovered! I remember when me and chewy found 3" QEV on the "bay" for about $65. He tune...

Re: Piston Hybrids, a couple of questions
I too am just getting into piston hybrids as well. From the research I have done, I can tell you that there should be no equalization hole in the piston between the pilot and the chamber. If there were a hole there, you could risk accidentally igniting a fuel mixture behind the piston as well as in...

Re: hybrid fueling
whoops, sorry for the misunderstanding. There is a fueling hybrid 101 in the stickies at the top. It is more accurate, but on a basic combustion spudgun it works like this: http://www.burntlatke.com/lp.html To use on hybrids, simply put the mix in 3 times for a 3X mix, etc. The Fueling 101 would be ...

Piston Hybrids, a couple of questions
I am getting back into spudguns and really like the hybrid piston concept. They look fairly straight forward, but I do have a few questions though. Do the pistons have a equalization hole through the piston, connecting the pilot and chamber area? I would be concerned about either losing a bit of fue...

Fuel Charge Pressure (In PSI) 1x 0 (normal combustion firing) 2x 14.7 3x 29.4 4x 44.1 5x 58.8 6x 73.5 7x 88.2 8x 102.9 This is the air pressure in the chamber used with different charges. I don't really want to guide someone on how to do meters as it is a topic in and of itself, plus if you are even...

Its been a long while, re-introduction post.
Hi everybody. First off, I really hope this is in the right spot to post! My name is Mark. I used to frequent the Spudtech forums and Spudfiles in it's early days I used to go by "boogieman" and still do, but I couldn't get the screen name or password to work. I was really involved in potato guns ba...

Re: spark plugs for ignition
I you don't have a spark plug, or want to use a pipe thread tap you already have on hand, I recommend this method: http://www.advancedspuds.com/nosparkplug.htm As jackssmirkingrevenge said, very tiny spark gap. The higher the "mixture" the smaller the gap.

Been there done that: http://www.spudfiles.com/resources/some-of-the-retrieved-pieces/6327 Hooray for PVC grenades! Oh dang! SCH 80 too! Well... my old hybrid is now a plain combustion launcher. I never fired it anything but remotely. I would guess I put around 100 shots out of it and never had iss...

Re: Camloc on hybrid
I have used the black composite "plastic ones" with no trouble. Obviously metal would be much safer and superior of a material. I usually put the female on the launcher as, males are cheaper. You can then attach multiple barrels paying less for each adapter. Also, it seems a bit less clunky with the...

Re: Looking For Advice From the Hybrid Gods
To be honest, once a stun gun is out of it's case, its no longer a stun gun, only a generic potato gun ignition. They just work so well and can be modular to use in multiple launchers too. IANAL but If you can buy one already converted into a ignition, it shouldn't be a stun gun as there is no effec...
