Re: Bolt action BB loader - Issues

Been busy with school and such, but the stock is almost done, just need to sand ( a lot ) and apply finish. For the gun itsself, there are a few features I want to add, like a way to secure it to the stock other than friction, and a trigger safety ( as it's very sensitive right now ). I'll try to up...

Re: Short question topic

Has anyone made a pressure regulator themselves? I've designed one and I'm planning to machine it soon.
Image
Size: 2" to 4", depends on application
In and output pressure: probably 1500 psi to 300 psi.. I've yet to fully decide. I might make a few, anyone interested?

Teflon lined barrel

Hello, I noticed that teflon and steel have a very low friction constant (0.05), and I was wondering if you could line a barrel with teflon (or make a barrel entirely out of teflon) and reach higher velocities than with a steel barrel (friction steel vs steel is 3x higher than steel vs teflon). Has ...

Re: Wacky Breechloading Launcher

I must agree with DaVinci then :)

You should throw some math at it to see under what circumstances it would work. I wonder though, what do you exactly mean by choke? Something to time when the air enters the chamber, but how? (if not manually)

Re: QEV and building up

I do not have experience with the norgren valves, but I can say that a cheap Chinese valve will work just fine! I have started using those and I still do because 1) they are very simple 2) easy to mod 3) very cheap (although you said money isn't the issue). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Pneumatic-Qu...

Nice, I think this is a very elegant design. Curious to see how it will perform. Hooking up the trigger cocking to the regulator piston something I hadn't thought of before...

Re: Considerations to have when building a Coaxial Piston Ca

I find your considerations very interesting, and I don't have a proper answer to all of them, but I can address one; The issue with pure mechanical action is generally that you can't go very high pressure without 'ridiculous' mechanical force to open the valve. That is what has stopped me from using...

Re: Using the front page

EDIT - Oh and about the YouTube channel... I don't Youtube much, but I do have some sort of channel that was used for the videos on the home page and a few other areas. Perhaps there is a way for me to allow others to add to the channel? I think one can create a 'topic' where everyone can add video...

Bolt action BB loader - Issues

Hello, It's been a while since I finished a rifle, but right now I'm very close. (that's the mechanical part, haven't started on the stock yet, boring..) Here are a few pictures: http://i.imgur.com/RsiVika.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RmSttCD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5tbKCoL.jpg And now the part I'm having ...

Using the front page

Hi guys, I visit the site quite often, and I am getting a little tired of this 'SpudFiles recently did a spud shooting event...' That was almost 3 years ago. I think it would be nicer to show either weekly or monthly 'spotlighted' posts, that could be; interesting designs, nicely crafted launchers, ...

Re: Air Tank Materials?

http://www.copper.org/applications/plumbing/cth/design-installation/cth_3design_burst.html If you click on the tables you'll see that copper is a pretty good material, and steel is even stronger of course. The critical part here is the joint, so I'd recommend not going above 1000 psi without welded ...

Re: Solenoid needed for HPA single-shot sniper - ideas?

How HPA is your HPA? The regular chinese valves generally don't take more than 10 bar. For the timing I recommend you use a microcontroller such as an Arduino, which are cheap (if you get a chinese ripoff), easy to program and use
