Whoa, thats pretty amazing work. Very nice. I love the compactness of the whole thing. It's very clean.
Thank you!! I'm glad you like this work.

Re: Hybrid handgun with rupture disc

Excellent work as always, as I've said privately the fact that you've made it work consistently would be admirable even if looked like a bunch of random parts thrown together, but you've also managed to make it neat and stylish, kudos! The trigger guard integrated in the pump handle is really a nic...

Re: Hybrid handgun with rupture disc

This would be the design of a cartridge containing the pellet, rupture disc and sealing o-ring, to introduce the pellet into the barrel and leave the cartridge in the firing position using a bolt. Of course, for a single-shot weapon like this pistol it is not necessary, but if you need an ammunition...

Re: Hybrid handgun with rupture disc

I compared it to a commercial PCP pistol of the same caliber and they shoot the same. Two meters from the target, with the same 16g pellet, they pass through the two three cans of soup. According to the stopwatch of my friends who have the same weapon, it is around 700 to 750 fps with 130 bar in the...

Hybrid handgun with rupture disc

I had this project in mind for quite some time, and I have finally finished it. This is this .22 caliber pistol that fires common pellets, associated with a rupture disc. The advantage is that the weapon can be supplied in the same way as a common, commercial compressed air gun. It has an inverted l...

Awesome!! You're right, with steel it will last longer... I never thought that the abuse would be so much, but after seeing aluminum, they are very harsh operating conditions. Nice pictures!! :)

Re: fl(air) gun - mechanically locked pneumatic cartridge for a 26.5mm flare gun

This modification idea could be used as an easy-to-manufacture check valve. The important thing is that it seals quickly without any spring.

Re: fl(air) gun - mechanically locked pneumatic cartridge for a 26.5mm flare gun

While using a single o-ring as both a seat seal and a check valve for filling functioned as a concept, I noticed that sometimes while purging the air line it would not reseal immediately, resulting in lower pressure in the cartridge and inconsistent performance, so I've modified the design with a s...

Re: Dual Camera System to enhance combustion weapons.

As seen in the tests, it could improve a combustion weapon. In a hybrid we could reach the same energies with more discs. Very interesting that we have proof of all this. As you think, maybe for a low pressure hybrid it can improve something.

Re: Dual Camera System to enhance combustion weapons.

It is clear what is happening, as far as I can understand. You can play with the size, shape and quantity of the hole. Also with the volumes of both chambers. Great that you can try all this. In my particular case, if 20 or 30% improvements can be obtained, I will apply it without hesitation to my w...

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance

Interesting results. According to the scientific article on this topic, the diameter of the hole can vary the results. As I remember, the second division of the camera was much smaller than the first. Good job Jack!!

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance

In my view, that is the most feasible and simplest explanation. The longer the projectile is pushed by hot air that does not lose pressure as quickly, is better than hot air with more pressure that will always decrease if the maximum peak was reached before the projectile begins to move. I have veri...

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance

This is very interesting. Intuitively, the highest pressure accumulated before burst would result in the highest velocity. It would stand to reason, though, that you want the disc to burst late enough to raise the chamber pressure sufficiently, but early enough for there to be unburnt fuel mix bein...
