Re: "In the world of spuds today"

I agree with JSR. I wouldn't expect any major revolutions in the airgun world, but instead continued incremental evolution and possibly changing popularity trends. You can already buy a PCP semi-auto that will shoot the wings off a gnat. What would really get me excited is the commercialization of ...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"

What do you think... What will be the next step in airguns? Maybe more pressure to achieve more power, or more autonomy? I think that the boys of 60 or 70 years in the future, they are not going to shoot with the same thing that we shoot. In aviation, they went from propellers to turbines, from ther...

Re: Counter balanced hammer valve issue

In my experience of balanced valves it cannon be too unbalanced if you are using a material like delrin to seal. Sorry, but I did not quite understand what you say. On the other hand, is there a commercially available pcp weapon with this type of unbalanced valve? I mean, do you make something like...

Re: Counter balanced hammer valve issue

There are different configurations for balanced valves, this post should be of interest if you haven't seen it already. Most of them have the opposite problem of not reclosing. The solution for that is the same as the spirit of Hector's suggestion, bleeding air from the transfer port in order to fo...

Re: Any official studies of Hybrid Cannons?

motor arrma.png It is like in the drawing, where the energy of the gas is used to drive by reaction, in this specific case, or to drive by pressure a piston attached to a crankshaft, or to accelerate a projectile and several other things. With respect to the initial operating conditions, you must h...

Re: Any official studies of Hybrid Cannons?

Perhaps you should associate the physical phenomena that occur in a hybrid, with machines that produce mechanical energy in the same way, but that are something else, for example an internal combustion engine. It has there, a fuel, air, a spark plug and an explosion, in a cylinder. Imagine a motorcy...

Re: Counter balanced hammer valve issue

I agree with your analysis. This way you won't have the problem, but an o'ring is necessary.

Re: How to make an Air cannon sound cooler/louder?

I found some plans for a 3d printer, I leave them here, and a video of how much this type of device increases the sound, from about 81dB to 99dB. Perhaps it will help the author of this topic.

uhhhh !!! terrible!!! :o :o I think he is more injured than the target he shot. 85,000 psi is definitely not for me. Good video, although I don't wish anyone this, but good video, anyway :?

Re: How to make an Air cannon sound cooler/louder?

Who were the guys building those beutifully machined sound guns ? Think this it https://youtu.be/GbTk-5J1gJE Oh yeah! beautiful machine, and it works excellent! but my question goes a different way. There is a user of a forum in my country, who tries to increase the sound of measured, purchased mar...

Re: How to make an Air cannon sound cooler/louder?

The picture looks like theres more things going on, such as holes in the cone, and it looks like its disconnected from the barrel? While also being in a cylinder. The example I showed you is adjustable, with holes in the cone that allow you to vary the amount of noise. When the holes are completely...

Re: Semiauto Nerf Rival with no moving parts.

Very nicely done! I really like the magazine lid. A practical implementation of the valveless/popoff concept. https://www.spudfiles.com/download/file.php?id=14005 I could never solve the issue of the retention of a "cup" type pellet, to shoot the same as your animation, but with a hybrid. The probl...
