Re: bbv 4 u

Ok, my last post wasn't as helpful as it should be. I was excited to see someone went to the trouble to make an animation :D The mechanical operation is animated great. The airflow is correct in showing the diaphragm blowing back and carrying the operating pin out of the way, so everything there is ...

The BBM rapid-fire BB gun

This one is just a fun experiment to answer a question that's been nagging me for over 30 years. Demonstration is at the end.

Re: bbv 4 u

Yes, that is precisely how it works. You've included both halves of the operating cycle. In reality the diaphragm has travel limited to only enough to get clear so it is a bit asymmetrical regarding travel, but your animation is spot on. Very nice indeed, and thank you . What app do you use for the ...

Re: bbv 4 u

Now you all may be wondering just how the vacuum is being generated. In the case of the BBV it is exactly the same principle as an air brush. The air blown across the end of the lift tube creates the vacuum needed to draw the paint up out of the jar and into the air stream. So you may think "Why the...

Re: bbv 4 u

Yes there is a "blow back" half of the cycle which retracts the operating pin. There is also a "suck forward" half of the cycle which punches the next BB into the breech. The diaphragm converts the alternating positive and negative pressure pulses into work. The BB does the switching. Because the la...

bbv 4 u

I have uploaded the balance of the videos detailing the BBV MG for anyone who is interested in having a go at a build. I'd love to see what can happen with more imagination applied. I am practical to a fault and would love to see the "cool factor" buffed by people better at that kind of thing than m...

Re: I was hoping for some feedback on my oxy-propane combustion cannon.

Oxygen is a huge liability. Not many people really seems to understand that. I've personally been close to an incident which killed a young man with a wife and 3 little kids at home. The smoke had not yet cleared when I walked through the area wondering what the hell just happened. The root cause wa...

Re: Hello, how's this?

Thank you. And thanks to the moderators for allowing me to post this. I have just published the next video segment going into more detail on the BBV design.

Re: Valve thing

Yes, there is a good bit going on there. I think (just my opinion) it might be better to try it with a bit of separation of function as it will be easier to troubleshoot. Propellant air/gas pulses can be delivered many different ways; hammer valve, piston valve, sprinkler valve etc. You've included ...

Re: Valve thing

I used a feed/fire mechanism sorta kinda like that on a proof of concept BB MG. I went with a more modular approach. I used a chamber, piston, nozzle and spring assembly but released propellant air with a separate mechanism. Mine fed propellant air upstream of the piston/nozzle assembly with a retur...

Hello, how's this?

Hello, I've been swinging by here for a fair number of years to see what's shakin' from time to time and working on some bbmg ideas that have been rattling in my gourd. I've recently signed on to present one of them here to see how it strikes you all. https://youtu.be/PtMkuVCu1pg I have more content...
