Re: Hybrid repeat system

That is next level stuff there. I am still trying to wrap my head around this. Clearly it works.

Maybe once I have my system complete I will try my hand at autonomous function.

Thanks for sharing this!

Re: Hybrid repeat system

Are the supply lines under constant pressure?

The "butane tank" and "compressed air tank"?

It would be very interesting to see if you could make a GIF to show how it functions in the various stages.

Re: Hybrid repeat system

You are onto something for sure. I cant wait to see what you put together. Thats what I like about this place, you never know what someone is going to come up with.

Re: I'm back!

Its very interesting, I like hybrids mostly for their power. When I make things with repeating or automatic operation I like to use HPA it is easier to achieve reliability and consistency in my experience.

Re: about accuracy

Tig welding uses inert gasses instead of slag "lava" to shield the weld from atmosphere. Your cheapest option would be a braze, they are easy to preform and can hold alot of pressure when properly executed. All you need is a propane torch in most cases. Look into the brazing process on youtube, ther...

Re: about accuracy

I am hesitant to chime in, seems i have a dissenting opinion. Thank you hectmarr, language is not something I study, and your post even in translation is clear and concise. I guess I could not explain properly. As hectmarr stated any imperfection in the barrel will affect performance. Personally I t...

Re: about accuracy

Doesn't it? 🙂 Text doesn't covey emotion or intent, without physically speaking with someone it is impossible to covey "tone" Noticed i changed my point from "spin on a bb will degrade accuracy" to "the magnus effect has a positive affect on accuracy". I gathered information, and changed my opinion ...

Re: I got some questions.

I should have noted my pump has a small desiccant filter already on it. It definitely only happens if I let the gun cool down and "condense" I can fire repeated shots without a problem, however if I let the gun sit for an hour after if will not fire again. I have even played with "dry firing" the ch...

Re: I got some questions.

I dont believe I am "pumping water" into my chamber. Water is a product of combustion, I believe that the moisture is coming from combustion rather than the atmosphere. My thought was to remove the moisture created during combustion. However the suggestion to direct the fill port at the spark plug s...

Re: about accuracy

Magnus effect has an affect on aerodynamics, it is not however aerodynamics. They are two separate things When you rotate a wheel it moves, not because of aerodynamics but because it is displacing its self across the ground. An airplane is aerodynamic. Cars are aerodynamic. Neither of which are rota...

Re: about accuracy

I dont think you actually Google the magnus effect? Its not the "aerodynamic" effect.

Lead balls where phased out and replaced with mini balls when rifling became common place.

I can agree to disagree, I would never use a rifled barrel for a spherical projectile. My 2.5 cents...

Re: about accuracy

To amend my previous statement. I looked into airsoft and how the magnus effect pertains to accuracy. Airsoft guns use a "hop-up" to impart back spin to the projectile. This gives it a desirable lift increasing range and accuracy. However if you try to impart rotational energy the way rifling does t...
