Re: 3D printed internal valve trial

Looks good, but I'd be really concerned about PLA both in terms of strength and impermeability. Perhaps saturating it with epoxy would be a good idea, or printing a hollow shape that would accept an epoxy pour. an epoxy pour is a great idea... I will keep that in mind. My biggest roadblock right no...

Re: 3D printed internal valve trial

I'm only going to be dealing with about 40psi max.. which puts me around 280lbs of pressure on this. At this point I'm still testing concept, and it could likely be made from aluminum if need be. With the piston itself being 3D printed, it has very low mass and hopefully will not create too much imp...

3D printed internal valve trial

Hi Everyone, I'm relatively new here, and previously posed this to the bleacher-reacher thread. I thought it might be more appropriate to make a new thread dedicated to my experimentation with a 3D printed internal valve. I'm open to everyone's thoughts and suggestions, and I will answer as many que...

Re: A look inside the "bleacher reacher" t-shirt launcher

I'm using PLA for the first time around... I'm really just testing the concept at this point. I'm thinking the piston can be printed as well, less weight will reduce the impact force. I will put adhesive backed silicone rubber on the front of the piston to create the seal. I'm planning now to remove...

Re: A look inside the "bleacher reacher" t-shirt launcher

I'm working on a mostly 3D printed version of this that fits inside of a 3"pvc

Re: A look inside the "bleacher reacher" t-shirt launcher

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I've never seen an o-ring used in that way. I think I have the concept pretty well figured out here...

Re: A look inside the "bleacher reacher" t-shirt launcher

Does anyone have more information regarding the slot in the piston or its function? I am assuming the piston is not using a standard o-ring, rather a cup seal? I'm trying to draw this assembly in 3D modeling software and i'm confused by that slot
