Re: Back here after 6 years Getting back into the hobby

I'm surprised I recognize as many members as I do! there are some veterans around here.
The old cannon was typically operated in the 40-50 psi range and very rarely over. I want to triple that and average 120 psi with an equivalent chamber volume, longer barrel and more efficient valve.

Re: (NEW) S.W.A.T v.3

Glad I'm not the only one! It died when I tried to shoot a heavy steel motorcycle fork without strapping down the barrel. The recoil flexed the barrel up and broke the gun at the weakest point, which happened to be the joint at the air chambers. Of course when that happened they turned into rockets.

Re: Back here after 6 years Getting back into the hobby

I was just doing some math and 30 feet of 4" in a unique configuration I have had in my head for a few years seems the most fiscally responsible and easiest to work with, seeing my compressor is only capable of ~150 psi, I don't see any reason to go with steel tanks. As far as updating my old piston...

Back here after 6 years Getting back into the hobby

After a hiatus from the hobby of at least 6 years, I brought up this potato gun I built when I was a kid in middle school while I was having a beer with a few buddies. It got me thinking about how much I miss senselessly destroying objects with a pneumatic cannon. The swat gun has been laying in the...

Re: (NEW) S.W.A.T v.3

All of my accounts that held my pictures and videos of it in operation are gone now, it's a bummer.

Re: (NEW) S.W.A.T v.3

This thing is broken in three pieces laying outside and has been for at least 5 years. I've been wanting to relive my childhood, the days before college & work took control of my life and build another cannon. I was on Wikipedia recently and found out there is a link to this cannon on the potato gun...

yeah, true.

although it can be pricy, motor vehicles are a great time!

and to hop on the bike, kick the engine over, and go off and jump and race and ride with your friends is wonderful.

I havent quit, I've just.... slowed down. the swat needs about $150 iin parts to become operational again, and at this point i would rather put it into a dirtbike or quad. while I enjoy blowing things up/shooting things, I think i enjoyed the construcion of the guns just as much, if not more. I enjo...

Hey guys!....

Hi, as most of you know (but probobly dont care), I rarley visit this forum anymore. my love of projectile launching has been overcome by my love of the bass guitar, and the 2-stroke internal combution engine. a majority of my time and money is spent on dirtbikes now, so the swat sits unused. if any...
