1. Removed the flow control mechanism by unscrewing the top screw and unscrewing the bottom piece.

2.)Tapped and inserted a 1/4" NPT fitting in the top of the valve.

3.) Removed the Solenoid, and filled the hole with epoxy.

Don't see any small metal pin. I drilled a small hole through the diaphragm to help equalize the pressure, and the air still escapes through the pilot tube instead of the barrel.

this might be your prob try filling the hole with epoxy

Check that the seat where the diaphram seals there is no dirt ...

I officially have no idea why this isn't working. I've never had any trouble modifying 1" valves.

Anyone have a link to predict the distance a golf ball will travel from an SDR-21 sleeved barrel. I have a ballistic chronometer, so I can measure the velocity of the ball as it leaves the barrel (max 285 fps so far, hoping for a lot higher.

I don't remember seeing a small metal pin when I disassembled the valve. I'll look again. Are you taking about the 2" Orbit valve. They look different than the 1" ones.

I'll have to post some pictures later. Meanwhile, I'll look for the small pin through the diaphragm.

Thanks for the ball valve tip, but that will just mean that all of the compressed air will escape through the ball valve quicker. Nothing is going through the barrel.

Doesn't the medium in which the projectile travel mean more than the medium in the chamber?

I mean it's nice to build a hydrogen gun, but won't it still be irrelevent if the gun is shooting the projectile in air?

So this means that using CO2 (atomic weight 44) will provide a slower velocity than air or the other less dense gases like H2 (atomic weight 2) and He (atomic weight 4)?

I'm actually working on getting some sdr21 sleaved from Pimpmann, so that may very well be the next barrel for my gun. It would likely have to be a non-coaxial design (I can't imagine having a 4" barrel with sleaved sdr-21 inside 2" sch 80, but I guess anything is possible.
