I checked for any obstructions and gave it a good washing out so thats not the problem. I know nothing about quick disconnects so how would I go about connecting to a 12v emergency compressor with one?

Its not that hared to understand. Just look at the outside surface of the bottle. Follow it to the bottom where it takes a curve and becomes the inside. Then follow the inside all the way up the narrow part to the top of the jar part.
