my mum doesnt like them, but she still tolerates them. my dad is ok with them as long as i don't shoot it in our backyard. so i go to the bush down the road and shoot them.
what you need to do is gradually make your way up to big spud guns. start with a mini, your parents would probably approve ...

i use it down at the bush which is about 20 metres down my road. there is also a giant cliff where you can see how far things can REALLY go

you use the cheap homebrand hairspray - cheap and reliable but i hate cleaning it out of my cannon.

this is my first cannon, which is made from this toy foam missile launcher, re-enforced by duct tape. i made a pistol grip, and added a piezo igniter.
i didnt have any of those 'sewer caps' so i cut the top off a pepsi bottle and acctached it to the end with a $hit load of duct tape.
