#1 Go with cam locks or a bolt for a breech loader.

#2 you need 2 openings in your gun, 1 for air in and 1 for air out for the fan to vent it. You should just put a ball valve on one end and open it to vent.

They're fine. Every manufacturer puts not to be used with compressed air so that they can't be sued when dumb people make spud guns using DWV pipe and fittings. As long as you didn't get bell reducers you should be fine. Bell reducers will be fine if they say nsf-pw on them but are not near as sturd...

the flow would be equivalent to 1.5 pi, which would translate to be approximately 2.5" porting. Of course, 1" sprinkler valves don't give a full .25pi surface area so it's probably closer to 1.5"-2". It is a decent price though. A 1" sprinkler here is $10.

#1 don't double post, edit your post. #2 don't whine about your problems, people will be less likely to help. #3 did you do the stoichiometry for the size of your meter pipe compared to your chamber to get the correct pressure when injecting propane? If not are you just holding the propane bottle in...

okay guys, someone on this forum does know how to mod it. Just PM Frankrede. he's done it before..........I think. In fact, if you read this Frankrede and you have indeed modded a u-shaped valve you should post a how to on it.

It's really obvious though, no o-rings, no separation of pilot and barrel. Any diaphrahm valve MUST be a barrel sealing valve(unless you find a way to put o-rings on a floppy piece of rubber in which case you will have the oddest looking yet coolest working diaphrahm ever).

Maethor, you're not quite right on that one, but really close. A longer barrel gives it more time for the pressure to be applied to the object. The pressure is dropping as the projectile moves through the barrel because the chamber's total volume is increasing, which is quite contrary to you saying ...

Garrettee, there is nothing wrong with sprinkler valves, just pistons are better. Now, to finish this arguement, any chamber sealing valve needs o-rings to keep air from leaking from the pilot to the barrel. Since no sprinkler I've seen has a piston with o-rings I'm going to have to say that sprinkl...

A bolt action works the same as a bolt action rifle. You pull the bolt back, load the gun, and push the bolt forward and lock it. When they say breach loading they're suggesting doing something like cam locks or a male adaptor on the barrel.

I think the paintball stuff might be the ticket, but I'm wondering where to get it and how much it costs.

O-ring lube

Okay people. I'm wondering what you guys use to lubricate o-rings, where to get it, and how much it costs. I'd be especially interested in what Gort uses, but I understand he doesn't want everyone knowing. If you read this Gort you could just PM me 'cause I'm not looking to replicate or mass produce...

The only thing is we don't know what it's rated to, or at least I don't know what it's rated to. If you knew what water pressure it was rated to you would be fine guessing that it has a similar air pressure rating.

Well, it depends on your chamber and barrel size. If you have a 1' long gun you aren't going to get a lot of power.
