Hahaha yeah pieces of flying steel definitely strikes me as a bad thing (no pun intended). I'm thinking a combination of thick steel plates (or what ever I can find at the scrap yard) bolted on, and maybe for or five water filled 10' 4" tubes which I can bolt to the cannon. Yeah and I wasn't intendi...

Ah good, I see Ragnarok has picked up on the problem I have been toying with on and off since I started pursuing this. I knew with such massive recoil means I need not only a very sturdy frame (and I mean very F*ckin sturdy frame), but also a long travel distance and a recoil dampener, which has lim...

I was think about making my own shocks, I even went as far to draw up my own plans. But I felt springs would be a simpler and more maintenance free solution (no seals to deal with and no refilling incase some leakage occurs). Even with access to a lathe at school, its a 16-18 hour drive back home (w...

haha I think you might be losing this one jjrdw. I love cars but my financial situation has prevented me from any serious tinkering or modding. My baby though is a 2005 Ford Expedition NBX. It's not built for speed, but it is a tank and can still haul ass even at being 6500lbs. Blessed 3 valve 5.4L ...

They were like 1/4" to 1/2" of an inch away. Surprisingly it held, but the PVC did bend and crack a little. I'm sure there is a much better way to do it then how I did it. Well friction plus 4 little machine screws (1/8" in diameter) that screwed slightly into the barrel. I have the parts for a new ...

I would've been happy to provide you pictures, but unfortunately I had to scrap the 2" PVC barrel for safety reasons and how inconvenient it was to set up. The steel coupler also now has a threaded steel nipple welded to it so I could attach a 2" union so a picture of it won't provide much help. Bas...

camosoul77, Every project or cannon (many of which I have yet to post) I have made, I designed entirely in my head and built it with basic and easily to acquire tools. Industrial machinery is nice, but it is not necessary to pull something like this off, it just allows a nicer safer product to be pr...

From my experience, Teflon tape sucks with galvanized metal fittings. If you can disassemble it, then use liquid pipe thread dope on the fittings and screw them back together. However, it is also possible to seal the fittings from the outside. Thick super glue or epoxy dripped in between the fitting...

I have a little over ten years worth of experience and knowledge concerning gluing cannons together with super glue and I can say it works. However, its easy to poorly glue the joint (it has to be done a certain way) and f*ck up so you should stick to PVC cement whenever possible. Using super glue a...
