Interesting, but I couldn't help but to notice an odd fact. The sound of the piston actuating in this video sounds much more like the, for lack of a better term, sloppy opening of the original pop-off valve, not the clean and crisp sound that delighted my ears yesterday. Why is this? Is it just an o...

Was the pneumatic spring changed to simply a mechanical spring, or is there some weird hybrid mix going on in there? I just want to clarify.

@MrCrowley There is still the possibility of a person selling other cannon components. For example, a person could have a number of propane meters or wooden grips and sell those. People would find other products to sell other than cannons and piston valves. Besides, a little competition never hurt a...

I don't see anything that really jumps out at me as a problem. The suggestion that I have though would be to flip around the hammer valve so that the piston travels backwards instead of forwards. In my mind, this would make building the trigger a bit easier (you only would need one component as oppo...

I actually was introduced to spudding trough the show on Discovery: Monster Garage. They made a mail car that launched packages by a pneumatic cannon. As soon as I saw that, I rushed over to the computer and dove into spudding.

I give them an autocad file and *bing* out pops my part. This is why the plates are the absolute last thing to buy. A minor change in a component position is no big deal....until the holes become real. I can confirm this last statement. I work on a robotics team and know all too well that the robot...

DR your link does not work.

Are you going to fill the chamber through the back near the blowgun or directly into the chamber. If you are filling through the blowgun, you won't need the spring there. Otherwise it looks good.

Congratulations on getting it to work, I have a few questions though. Would you mind posting a close up of the bolt itself? I can hear the cartridge snapping into the bolt but an not sure what exactly is happening there. Also, why did you decide to drill holes at the epoxy fittings? Do they serve an...

Very interesting. How well is that working?

A lot of quick replies. Alright 2)Using cartridges for the propellant, then having a separate loading system for the ammo - this enables the possibility at least a 1:1 ratio. I plan on having the cartridge connect to another longer barrel, so the 1:1 ration should be solved by that. - Too many studs...

I apologize in advance for the double post, but I felt as though this would make more sense if I gave it its own message. I have finalized the combustion cartridge idea. Your advice was good and I implemented it within the new design. Also, I am going to "borrow" some ideas in this project. Namely, ...

Also, why the flow restriction?
Probably to make sure the projectile does not fall down in the chamber.
This could be achieved with a simple bolt though.
Correct. And that does sound much more practical now that I think about it

You could always tap a small hole, 8-32 threads I think they are, and screw a computer case thumb screw in there to close it up. Just twist the screw out to refuel then back on to close. I think this would work the best. Either that or I just take a brass plug to fill up a hole. Also, in regards to...

I don't see much of a difference as far as performance goes. It is just a different fitting. However, I think this will work well for a burst disk holder because of its shape.

Also, concerning your last two pictures, are they of the burst disk?
