Re: Look what I found!
I'd be interested to know what their design operating pressure is. I don't see mentions on their site or their literature except for the spark plug and electrical feed through - which say 500 psig. Not saying they wouldn't work as often there is a safety factor in play but it might be worth asking t...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW
I need to get back to building. :/ I've had AR parts lying around since last fall but I finally got around to getting a lower a month ago and have been building that instead of the cannon I need to be finishing. IMG_0682.JPG I don't know about you but no amount of fancy ARs or AKs, custom built or ...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW
Welcome back, Gunfreak. NOW BUILD SOMETHING! :D I might design a large bore soup can launching monster. I think my next cannon should have enough recoil to just about put me on my ass. It's called for. Did you forget about ME? https://vimeo.com/263675436 Oh man, this post brings back memories of my...

so they are a thing  I don't like this at all. These guys have beautiful cannons and they appear to know what they are doing. I thought we were special. I thought I was special. Seeing those guys with those beautiful cannons feels like I just s...

Re: Hybrids as drilling equipment
A hybrid projectile launcher is essentially an internal combustion engine with a single piston that buggers off, it's not like we came up with the idea ;) ..... This same company is also doing cooler projects vs. just pounding rock... https://www.teslarati.com/hypersciences-geothermal-energy-space/...

Re: Golf ball distance records?
North of 1500 fps is the fastest I've gotten a golf ball up to - I imagine it would travel about as far as it could with a mean hook or slice at that point. I've never tested it back east but now that I'm a home owner I hope to get back into this sport and launch some golf balls in the deserts of we...

Re: large burst disk hybrid build(Update September 2017)
... My second is the chamber seemed quite warm, maybe even more so than after the first shot. Even though heating would of occurred from compression of the added air I'd think that would have been counteracted by the venting of the chamber after the failed attempt to fire. So possibly had incomplet...

Re: Piston Hybrid Questions, O Ring/Design
I'd take a look at a good ol silicone o-ring for starters (Silicone Rubber -> High-Temperature Silicone Rubber O-Rings) https://www.mcmaster.com/#o-rings/=190271j Something in the 1/8" width like this guy would be good - you'll obviously need to size based on your application though https://www.mcma...

Re: Is Sch10 Stainless Steel DDT safe?
Yeah, I want the gun to be as mobile as possible, cam couplings and all. I just realized I would always need to have an air compressor nearby, is it possible to hook up a bike pump to the meter and pump through there? I want all the recharging/loading systems on the gun. I'm not going to drag an ai...

Re: Is Sch10 Stainless Steel DDT safe?
Interestingly enough - that gun initially started out as 'something I want to hold' - it quickly turned into not that haha.
Glad you enjoy the videos - Hopefully I can get back into making them in the future (aka shooting REAL spud guns, and not just boring cartridge fed AR's and AK's lol).

Re: Is Sch10 Stainless Steel DDT safe?
Here is a link to my Sch. 10, 304 SS chamber and barrrel hybrid that I made a few years back: http://www.spudfiles.com/hybrid-cannon-database/topic23523.html I have had it fail to rupture the burst disc with a 10x mixture once - it was kind of interesting - a "ping" sound and nothing. Kind of scary ...

Re: Noise cannon for RC planes
I was going to mention the ESP8266 - wasn't sure on your level of comfort with dealing with them as they can require FTDI programming setups and whatnot - which can be a pain if your not used to the pinout. Look at the ESP32 as well - much more powerful then the 8266, has bluetooth and better wifi s...

Amazing! I love logging on here to see new posts on this project haha - made me log in to leave this comment! Regarding frequency - any way you could possibly have two guns using one propane cylinder to save on weight - then fire them out of sync slightly using a micro controller to control the firi...
