Why do you not recommend that second rain bird valve? I bought one before reading the post and have not modded it yet...Is the response time that sluggish? I had to wait 2 weeks for Lowes to get this stupid thing in stock... I'd prefer just to use what i have if I could... Loganphyve ÜberComputer St...

Feasable, but your trip string would have to be in a high traffic area and unnoticable. Likewise, the ball valve would not discharge as fast as a burst disk or diaphragm valve, even with an external helper spring. Response time would be slower, meaning a smaller dispersion of the load. This unit see...

Even with some kind of small helper spring to keep the unit shut while discharged, or under low pressure, that idea would also be a suitable build.

Here is the promised image of the mine: The XXXX Layer is a heavy grate at the bottom of the chamber. The rubber or latex or whatever you find works best for the diaphragm will just be wrapped over the end and sealed. This setup will allow the "burst disc" style diaphragm only to rutpture when stepp...

Well, further evidence that humans are far superior to chimps of any kind, especially the ones that have been trained to mimic human keyboard patters... To the uncouth primate:

The insecurities you try so hard to hide are so plainly made visible by your efforts to do so...

Not only do you deny your own wish, but insult yourself as well, with that malevolent attitude you so produly brandish...

Grow up, or let the adults talk.

Very Nice. Similar to my build but i am working on "on board" air supplies and also have considered a bolt-action gun. Sections of pipe cut into equal lenghts make great moulds for ice rounds, a long time favorite of mine due to high density, destruction on impact, ease of creation, and extremely lo...

For the land mine applicatio, instead of using a burst-disc method, perhaps you may want to consider using a heavy duty screen with a punch-pin. Even the thinnest walls of latex or rubber can withstand immense pressure when applied over a supremely strong surface area. something like this: __ _ _ _ ...

Nice looking unit. I am currently working on the same, although i think i may be using a cabloe-drive spring latch for firing the air valve and i also have a small on board 150PSI air compressor. It will most likely be posted within the next month or two, so keep your eyes peeled... -Keep up the goo...

Elementary design, but would indeed work. perhaps several elbows to compact the unit into a lateral configuration... [/img]
