Re: Vintage Eclipse Gen1 revolvers etc.

Good luck with the business, I imagine the global situation right now must be beneficial for demand.

Re: Vortex feeding issue

I see it now. Normally the idea of the vortex block is to have a "free" area where BBs can circulate while agitated by the air, my impression is that the more limited shape you've chosen for the "vortex chamber" is not the idea. It probably works without the back plug because the fact that the air c...

Re: Single-pump handgun

Very nicely done, I remember we had talked about this configuration here and you've implemented it beautifully as always :D

I love the butane lighter incorporated into the grip for filling and from your video operation seems extremely smooth.

Re: Valve selection

Used your suggestion for Open and dwell. Used 75ft/s to lob shirt to target distance (different calculator). I find I only need 18psi, which seems low. The old PVC cannon, using a 1" sprinkler valve needs about 100psi to do much of anything (similar size chamber but a 36" barrel which might be part...

Re: Full auto qev pop off problem

Use the "attachment" tab in the "full editor & preview" reply window: 342-FH_001071.jpg does this means full auto won't work with the regular piston with a hole I did this to avoid damaging the original rubber piston, however other forum members have made this modification successfully for similar s...

Here's the internal parts of that valve:

The "piston" was a brass cup with a rubber insert, what does yours look like inside?

Re: Valve selection

I contacted SMC about my project and they are donating a pair of their 1.5" Pulse valves and some solenoid activated pilot valves to activate them. Rep is bringing them by today. I'm hoping one of them will work. Guaranteed to work, basically overkill for a t-shirt launcher which is good because yo...

Re: Pulse, QEV vs GGDT

I typically use "generic" as a good approximation, for exhaust valves typically opening time is a matter of milliseconds so say 5 ms should give you typical results. (old threads imply harder to get) Not at all, they are all over Amazon or eBay and cheaply available, unless you need larger diameters...

I don't suppose there's a way for PCGUY to automatically update all the broken links?

life got in the way of these fun projects.
Doesn't it always

Where does air enter the block?

Traditionally the space for the BBs is a full circle.

Re: Full auto qev pop off problem

If you're filling from the chamber side, did you make a hole in the piston so the pilot area can be filled?

For this one I had replaced the piston with a delrin disc, and added a spring to reset it:

Re: Hammer & QEV Valve Questions

As mrfoo said it's more a matter of practicality as you scale things up, at some point the hammer strength required becomes too much and a QEV is more feasible.

For example when Gippeto went hardcore with a 0.760 bore pneumatic at 1500 psi it made sense to take this approach.

Re: Gel block calibration BB gun

A quick exhaust valve like this one should do the trick.

In order to actuate it you could hook up something like this to your gas supply and the QEV pilot.

Something like that in principle:

Re: 3D printed internal valve trial

Looks good, but I'd be really concerned about PLA both in terms of strength and impermeability. Perhaps saturating it with epoxy would be a good idea, or printing a hollow shape that would accept an epoxy pour.
