I finally got around to fixing my gun, and now it is much better. I cut off the old barrel and welded on a threaded male adapter, then bought a 5 foot piece of pipe and welded on a threaded female adapter. I gave it a new paint job and it looks great.
To not waste the old barrel, I am turning it ...

I just made my first spud gun the other day but in my excitement I did not pay attention to the pipe specs. This is my gun, from clean-out to barrel:
4" cleanout adapter and plug -> 4" bushing -> 4" Diameter 14" long chamber -> 4"x2" coupler -> 2" Diameter 36" long barrel
