Brilliant observation, and completely false. Hybrid failures, while they can happen, are extremely rare.

Very slick. I like the stock; reminds me of Spudinator's hybrid. Can't wait to see the CO2 setup.

if you want to fix the leak, hook up a vacume cleaner and apply a more liquid variety of epoxy (marine probably) and it should get sucked in the the leaky area. Superglue works even better. It sucks into the leak very nicely. A thin mixture of clear primer/cleaner and clear cement works well too. I...

Found out today... It got funded. Which means it will very soon be an official project. Which means three things.... 1) I won't be able to talk about it once that happens (until press release). 2) It will have a defined schedule. 3) You folks will have contributed to something very real. Thank you....

Re: Lets talk torch heads

You really don't need NPT to get an gas tight seal. NPT is supposed to seal without the use of any sealing agents like pipe dope or Teflon tape. For regular threads, dope or tape will seal the joint just fine. Epoxy is overkill and unnecessary. No Jimmy, NPT threads do require some sort of sealing ...

This is a multi question post designed to kick up a torch head discussion so that modern and dated ideas can be reviewed and compared. 1) What’s inside a bernsomatic torch head? I've heard gate valve, needle valve and check valve. 2) Is the Mr. Heater disposable cylinder adapter appropriate for pro...

If you have a large enough meter, you could try hunting around for a used cutting torch acetylene regulator. The only problem with them is that they're only designed to dispense up to 15 psi. If you want more than that, you have to take them apart and stretch the spring out a bit. Holy shit! It's m...

It's radioactive. Don't worry, it's just fallout from the Nevada Test Site. Nothing to worry about. In fact, the radiation probably superheated the air in the barrel causing it to expand, overpressurize the barrel, and fail.

Re: Riding out the storm: Bring it on

Me and a few of my friends are planning on making a 4 wheeler ride out in the Bonne Carre spillway on monday. I know this may seem crazy, but a little wind and rain won't hurt. Wait... WHAT?!? You consider winds of ~130 mph and feet of rainfall to be "A little wind and rain"?!? I seriously hope you...

Sounds to me like you might be feeding liquid propane through your regulator instead of vapor. I have a self-relieving regulator as well that doesn't give me any trouble except when if begins to feed a bit of liquid. Once the liquid propane gets past the reg, it vaporizes and increases the pressure ...

Nalgene bottles: why do so many people have them, whats the point, water bottles hardly break as it is. I use plastic soda bottles and water bottles, I've never had one break accidentally and they are so cheap and they are even less likely to leak then Nalgenes. I don't care if they last long any w...
