Spoolvalve? Wow, before this I had never even heard/thought of that. Its like a backwards slide valve though, so it may run into the same problems. Does anyone have any experience with them? A simplified 3-way sliding spool valve looks easy enough to build. A rotary spool looks more difficult, thoug...

Yeah, clide was getting around 2 per second, but that was at high psi. I would be using around 15-30 psi. Would that increase ROF at all? My other option is using a modded QEV/blowgun type setup. ROF is a pretty big deal, used mainly for quick 3-5 shot bursts in woodsball. I assume I could actuate a...

 Tee Hee. Nipple.

Sorry. Get a smaller nipple? Actually, if you wiggle / gyrate that drill bit, you will be able to make the hole bigger.

Nah, I have seen pictures, I was just wondering if the shuttle material varied. Thats strange that the specs page is wrong though, thanks for your help.

Does anyone know if the shuttle/piston QEVs open faster than than the diaphragm QEVs?

I don't think anyone gets what you are saying. If by "gas" you mean CO2 and by "rifles" you mean "store bought airsoft guns" you would almost be right. I have seen automatic airsoft Co2 cartridge guns, but they are rare. Most are pointless because a the hassle of switching 12 gram cartridges every 1...

I completely forgot about McMaster QEVs, I thought that they were pistons. They show a Cv of 7.84. Thanks MrCrowley. I took a look at the fastenal 3/4 Alpha QEV , and it shows as .2 lbs, compared to the 2-3 pounds of a 3/4 diaphragm QEV. Is this accurate? Also, Is the alpha QEV the type where the sh...

Edit: whoops, double post. accidentally clicked quote instead of edit.

BTW, does anyone have a link to where I could buy an "American style Detrol QEV" or a specs page?

There are several auto gas guns right on this forum! GB semi is actually auto, BTB's paintball gun is auto, several of ant's airsoft guns are auto. Pointless.

Hmm... 750 psi? Crazy! I might have to go with a diaphragm just because of that. QEVs seem pretty hot-swapable, does anyone with both types want to test the performance difference? Also, a simplified version of the piston valve in clide's slider is an option EDIT: The 3g iPhone was just released!! 2...

Hmm, thanks for the advice. I thought the piston/shuttle QEV to be the more sturdy of the two, and I also heard that those flanges of the diaphragm limit flow. Another site showed the diaphragm at around 7 Cv. Could be a different make, or a different Cv testing method. Why would I "not want" to ope...

Best type of QEV? (and pilot/fill valve)

It's summer, and I would like to start making a paintball gun as soon as I can convince my dad. The gun will use a QEV/ homemade sleeve valve combo to achieve semi/auto fire. I plan to use a 3/4 QEV, but I need it as small, fast, lightweight, and cheap as possible, and with a high flow. I would like...

Wow, I had the EXACT same idea in my head, but I never posted it. Great minds.... I'll spare you. Actually, mine was slightly different, because of instead of the empty space around the barrel, that was incorporated into a silencer.

That is exactly like Clide's slider, except without the sleeve valve pilot/fill. Good animation though, it just looks kinda funny before you click full view.

Nice copper QEV gun Lentamentalisk, its very clean.
