You can use glow in the dark objects (lightsticks or other stuff painted with the goo from them works well) at night, in which case, finding the range is easy. Maximum Distance for a combustion tater gun

I've only just got into this sport, but I was wondering what kind of distance can a big normal combustion gun throw a tater? What size gun?

Ive read back in the archives a guy had one that threw a tater 1/4 mile.
Is that possible?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. :) I'll try getting a small fan in there and see if that helps out as was suggested. I'll also try spraying half the propellent and then giving a second shot later on. Regarding the smaller diameter barrel question, wouldn't that push my C:B ratio too high and actual...
