As far as PVC goes, the gray may be Sch 80 or it may be electrical conduit. The white may be SDR or Sch 40. What you want is either Sch 80 o Sch 40. Also, make sure ALL the fittings are pressure rated and DO NOT use any solid propellant in a plastic cannon.

It's going to be a little more complicated than that. Why not just build a pneumatic? It will provide much more power than a combustion cannon, unless you make another powder cannon, which then cannot be discussed here.
