I am personally into long range shoting and I know that it would be difficult. Also DYI mentioned he uses ABS as the barrel = flexible = no consistancy at all... so it can't be done.... If you like my idea -> Try to get maximum range and only that, no smashing anything, penetrating and so on. The bi...

yeah i know... but try hitting something 1000 m away with a gun that is not designed for accuracy at all.

I have one more idea - try shooting a projectile with onboard camera... preferably pointed backward so that you could see you and your cannon moving away at high speed :D

well ok I admit 1500 m is a bit too far. But 300 m <= shot would be something new anyway... I don't know yet what you can shoot at but atleast I pointed you how far people would like to see it.

so in my opinion - LONG RANGE dammage clip = something new and original[/b]

not really... it decreases chamber volume by the volume of the threaded fitting... so depending on your chamber volume it decreases your performance by 0.00000001 % to 0.1 % :D

I would like to see an old TV set placed 1500 meters from the gun smashed with a big heavy 1 kg lead slug  (no one ever did any long range dammage clip as far as I know so you'll be first )
but G.W.Bush (the other one) is ok as well.

Has anyone tried using LEDs as projectiles..? My dad bought dozens of lighters with LEDs in them. I figured out that I can remove the whole part with batteries.I added a bolt to make it heavier and wrapped them (the LED with batteries thing and the bolt) in transparent tape. If enough tape is added ...

yes Hailfire753. My idea is that a silencer tube is connected to the tube under the barrel. It increases the silencer volume and as a result its effectivness.

So what if I add a pipe under the barrel that serves as an extended expansion chamber for a silencer. Would it work ?? and how good it would work when compared to a normally built silencer with the same volume as the silencer+expansion chamber combination?

Yeah but you must admit that gun with a decent barrel and chamber made from 2" fittings and pipes can't be fully regarded as being man-portable.:D

1/2 and 3/4" are optimal sizes for a full-steel gun.

well, fittings are limmited to certain sizes - 3/8" 1/2" 3/4" 2" and so on, but there are metric sizes as well ( although difficult to find and more expensive ).There are different reducing couplings and reducing nipples for any possible size. Once u buy one you can use it indefinitely. I have big c...

Why do you stick to PCV or ABS as a construction material ?? The easiest way is to use threded steel and brass fittings. When I buy something I can use it later in my next projects. Leaks are not any problem when u know how to use o-rings, a PTFE tape or an insulating tape ( surprisingly it works be...

No JSR I could really hear them flying... Most of my spudguns use 1/2' and 3/4' steel pipes and fittings so i can easily change barrels and chambers in just a few minutes. Usually I use barrels that have greater volume than the chamber - because a 300 psi BANG is something that my ears don't aprove ...
