Yeah but you can still build a spudgun with, let say, 120 cm barrel that has threaded muzzle and/or small holes drilled on last 15 cm of the barrel; adjustable chamber (with a ball valve between the two sections 40 cm -------- a BV --------- 60 cm ) You have a 'regular' spudgun, but when you want to...

you might try using this 'compressor' - http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/several ... rt,15.html

I can get 300psi and more with this - well it's not 800 but at least you don't have to use your own muscles

When i try shaking mine it rattles too... try to attach air hose to it and see wheather it can pump to some pressure.

I will try to write how to remove them and use them as compressors and put that in how-to section (but i am not promissing anything)... One more thing.. you must remove the part that starts the compressor when temperature rises in refrigator - it is a small box with cables stiking out of it (sorry b...

At first I was quite frustrated with using steel and brass threaded fittings because of leaks... but with some teflon and o-rings I managed to overcome this problem. After building my own compressor from a refrigator I can easily get pressures up to 300 psi - it's much better than 12V car tire compr...

I have one more question... Has anyone tried using a hydraulic QEV with air ?? Or at least do you think it would work ?? There are some hydraulic QEVs that are pressure rated for up to 630 Bar  (and before you ask - I don't want to build a spudgun using 630 bar pressure - well at least not now)

DYI I like your idea... it doesn't have to be a part of the gun but it can be connected to a compressor or pump to 'multiply' pressure, like a (sort of) pneumatic gear-box right ? I am afraid that there can be some temperature problems due to adiabatic heating - I don't know much about that process ...

what's the point in using a regulator to get pressure down to 800psi and then increase it with a ram ?? If you want to use 6000psi u need very strong piston valve

Using 3-4k psi from a HPA tank should be easier than
making a ram and valve strong enough to work safely at 6k

ohh... sorry DYI.... It was writing it at 5 AM and.... I wasn't suggesting range shooting - I said that your spudgun would fire further when u use heavier projectile... I assume that golfballs have better drag coef than 'normal' sphere - but anyway adding some weight would allow you to...

DYI I hope u are going to fill tennis balls with something heavy. Light projectiles are not the best option for long range shooting

Nails are great  I often fire 4 to 7 6cm long nails together. After about 40-50 meters from the muzzle they slow down so i can actually see the whole array of them dispersed (I hope you can understand what i mean ? ). My barrel is much bigger (volume) than the chamber so the gun is so silen...

nice accuracy. I suggest you to try using steel pipes and fittings next time. u can use much higher pressure and smaller chamber with better performance.

Do u use hop-up for firing marbles ??

well i havn't encountered any problems so far. My compressor looks rather strong - it has thick metal casing/frame that looks capable of using higher pressures than 300 psi but I've limited myself to 300 for safety reasons. BEsides this thing is rather small so if you are afraid that it might burst ...
