How do I make a breech loader?

I've made my share of conventional (shove the ammo down the barrel like a musket) guns, but I am trying to make a breech loader for faster reloading. I don't have any problems with the actual construction of the device, but I need some help understanding the mechanics of it. I can't seem to imagine ...

I take a 6" long piece of 1/2" pvc and slide it from the tip of the arrow back to the fins, this holds them down, then I put the 6" piece up against my barrel and slide the arrow back and the fins slide into the barrel with no problems.

This gun uses a Toro brand valve. A friend of mine wants to take it deer hunting. My next gun is going to be very similar to this one, but it will use an old wooden rifle stock- so it will be very natural aiming and shooting it.

Its not exactly my first cannon, its more like my fourth, but it is the first one i've built without manually opening the valve, the others were horribly simplistic. i do have problems with the lefty thing, i am left handed so i built the gun so that the valve and cylinder were out of my way, but ...

i'm here

Howdy, i made this gun a while back and since have improved upon it greatly (after the recoil knocked me back, and i fell onto the gun, breaking off the trigger tubing) I'll post a pic of the new version of this gun, and yes i know dwv is bad but i was unaware of that until very recently, so spare ...
