Again, I'm not convinced it actually will work, but I'm taking my buddy's word for now that he got an engine running on water only. It sounds like magic to me, but it's an interesting project.

Does anyone at least know more specifics on the possible pressures involved in its combustion?

I knew someone with at least a little faith would surface. To clarify, the reason I'm asking for advice on this is because I respect how dangerous it is, and I want the right information and resources to do it safely. In this setup, I don't have a storage tank, but the chamber housing the reaction n...

My buddy says he's worked on it and had it running in a car. I'm not completely convinced of its efficiency, but it seems like a fun project.

I'm starting small for testing. I'll be trying a small engine first if we can get the electrolysis setup going well.

Hydroxy Info

Sup guys? So I'm toying around with a hydroxy project, and I'm in need of some things I really have no idea where to begin looking for. First, what peak pressure can burning hydroxy reach in an enclosed space at various starting pressures, say like 0-10ish? Next, does anyone know of any decently-pri...

By the way, good luck getting Helium. We're having trouble getting just one bottle from Praxair at the power plant.

How well does your ram seal? It looks like a loose fit. You'll lose efficiency if it leaks.

As for the combustion issue, fan or no fan, you should be seeing better results. Most of the time it's too much fuel. Keep trying less fuel after proper ventilation each time.

Delrin might be a good idea. UHMW stuff scares me. Too soft for me to machine.

I probably won't, but why ABS?

The metal sounds cool, but my shop is set up for very little metal work, and I hardly have the experience with it. Chamber sealing Mauler, kinda neat idea, but I'm not sure there would be any practical reason for it. As for correcting the stress problems on the back plug, I think all that's needed i...

His bore's only off by half a millimeter. I doubt he can sleeve ANY kind of pipe in there.

Sure. You'd still have a lot of blowby though.

Your best bet is to get an airsoft barrel. They are made to tight tolerances, and many already have hop-up.

There seems to be an epidemic of Mauler back plugs cracking at the screw holes. Other than Evan, you're the only person to mention this, Matty, but it still concerns me a lot.

It looks like it's time to revisit the drawing board for yet another Mauler design adjustment! :D

A bigger projectile. :P

I suggest ordering the right tubing for the job. You can sleeve it with something, but it'll be a pain in the ass, and will probably work poorly.

McMaster has the answers to everything. Try that.
