I have an alternate plan for a pilot valve, I'm switching to a blow gun so I will have a higher tollerance when it comes to my piston (I'm new on the block when it comes to machining pistons). Also a blow gun will be easier to fire. Because of the design of my cane gun I will be able to test both th...

I figured there was a rule of thumb so to speak. but with all the varriables, i guess not. 3/4" copper coaxial with a 1/2" copper barrel (i live in a small town so it was the best i could do for a small barrel). Unfortunatly its a low ratio but I'm making the piston servicable so I can quickley swap...

does anyone have a rough idea of what the maximum chamber volume that can be ported by a schrader valve in a coaxial piston (MY PISTON WILL BE LIGHT WEIGHT so don't worry))?

I plan to put a 40lbs test leader to absorb the "snapping" of the line as it pulls taught so I should be able to fire it at a decent velocity (for my launcher). Also I want to to fit inside of 1/2" sdr 21 because I like the challenge. I'm thinking if I'm careful and go with the 2nd design I Can conn...

If built properly it should stay in tact until it hits the water. Our local lake has a very shallow gradient so it is very difficult to fish from shore so "casting" 100-150m would save me the couple hundred bucks I would have to spend to get a canoe.

Ok, well it depends on the acceleration of the piston and the chamber/body. Of you had to you/I could angle the barrels up by about 5 degrees to emulate the bouncing Betty. Anyways... ...It was just another idea tht I don't have the time for, sigh... I've already got 2 projects on the go, my ball va...

I had another Idea as well, a 2 part projectile that would "split" in half upon impact with the water. but here's what i meant earlier. You need a place to attach the line to the projectile and that place has to be at the back (for stability's sake.

I was working under the assumption that the cork stays in during flight and basing my idea on the difference in density of corks and leaded epoxy. When fired the cork is going to slam in to the back of the nose leaving Little to no air. Also residual compressed air from firing will have built up in ...

Ok, then the projectile need holes behind the epoxy but I front of the cork to let it be pulled out by the corks bouyancy. A 1" sdr 21 barrel (24" long give about a 1:1 ratio excluding the length of the hollow projectile because that would have holes near the end) and corks fit in 3/4" sdr 21 which ...

Spigot mortar for fishing XD 1" sdr 21 fits nicely over 1/2'' couplings with a little tape and 3/4'' sdr fits over 1/2'' pvc (no fittings) or 1/2'' SDR 21 fits over 1/2'' SDR 11 if I wanted a more aerodynamic projectile. Yeah, I have a lot of PVC under my bed... I tried* to shoot my lead sinker with...
